Engaging in the art of writing is both a thrilling adventure and an exhausting endeavor. Despite the energy it demands, the pull towards expression through words is undeniable after all this time I’ve been away. Writing serves as a vital bridge, transporting my innermost thoughts into the tangible realm of the external world.
Lately, my days have been a blend of the mundane and the creative. Between the routine tasks of working and cleaning, I’ve found solace and excitement in candle making. While these activities might seem unremarkable at first glance, they each hold their unique place in my daily life and I find some pleasure within each task, or at least try to.
In the midst of these everyday tasks, I’ve come to realize the profound impact writing has on my mental health. It’s more than just a means of communication or a creative outlet; it’s a therapeutic process that allows me to unravel the complexities of my mind. By laying my thoughts bare on paper, I engage in a form of self-discovery and healing. Writing becomes a sanctuary, a place where I can confront and make peace with my inner turmoil.
The act of writing down one’s thoughts and feelings can be incredibly liberating. It offers a sense of release, a way to lighten the burden of bottled-up emotions. This practice is akin to having a conversation with oneself, enabling a deeper understanding and acceptance of personal emotions and experiences. The importance of writing in maintaining mental health cannot be overstated. On that note, I think I will be writing more these days, especially during Mental Health Awareness month, since I am a basket case, myself, after all.
